From Pigs to Parmesan
With our artisan food fair rapidly approaching on 12 February excitement is steadily growing at the Dunmore camp. We have some amazing artisan producers coming to this event and I would like to take this opportunity to mention a few and tell you a bit about them. As I have given some a mention on Facebook already I thought I would share the spot light with a few of our newcomers.
Wilber and team from Tully Farm rear their own pedigree Dexter, Irish Moiled and Kerry cattle. These are grass fed and reared on their farm. Ballyhooley farm are also coming and you won’t find better quality vegetables anywhere else in Donegal. With vegetables comes the amazing Claire and The Legumerie her vegetarian dishes will blow your socks off. Nine Hostages will be there too making tasty coffee in a cool renovated alternative camper van and you won’t find better preserves than Alicia Amberline. Rocket ice creams from Letterkenny who supply delicious ice cream from locally sourced ingredients and Granny Shaws range of fudges will amaze and delight. I am getting hungry just writing this but before I run away and try to cook myself.
Every single one of the Artisan Producers are of the finest quality and have put love and devotion into their product. I am so happy to have them at the fair. A few more are the amazing Cìste Milis who won Cavan’s Best Taste 2016. The dedicated and hardworking Ashling and Gary with a huge variety of jams and relishes and I cant forget Amanda and Daniel with their Body Fuel truck that focuses on the entirely organic and the entirely healthy (you have to try their muesli pot)
A little news on the heritage barn – it is looking great . Many thanks to Anthony Gallagher’s ACA Construction team. They have been busy making doors and shutters all week.
