A garden with a history
Set above the river at Carrigans, the gardens combine walled planting, a woodland walk and open lawns framed by specimen trees. Much of the structure is original; the planting is refreshed each year by hand.
For couples, that means a venue that decorates itself. Bring a few stems for the tables and let the rest of it do the talking.
Through the year
Spring
Bulbs through the woodland walk, blossom in the orchard, everything waking up.
Summer
Peak borders — roses, delphiniums, salvia. The lawn at its greenest and the longest evenings.
Autumn
Copper and gold through the mature trees, dahlias still going, low golden light for photos.
Winter
Structure, frost and firelight. Intimate winter weddings in the barn.
Tours & Private Hire
More than weddings
The gardens are open to groups, businesses and productions throughout the year.
Garden tours
Guided tours for garden clubs, societies and groups of ten or more, led by the people who look after the planting. Tea and something baked included.
Corporate & private events
Away-days, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and christenings. Same exclusive-use principle — you get the whole site and set the pace.
Film & photography location
Walled gardens, glasshouse, stone barn and open lawns within a short drive of Derry. Available for stills, commercials and productions, with parking and power on site.
